Our 2013 show year started with a beautiful weekend at the LAEC Opener from 1/18-1/20. Otis was back after a long lay up and won a couple of hunter classes including the first round of the Hunter Derby with Ande Murray. Stacey Bacheller won the USEF Talent Search Medal on a new mount for her, Boaccacio a very nice sale horse who is owned by Russel Morgan. Ande Murray and Comiker had a great show winning the eq over and making the work off in a few medals. Natalie Sutherland brought her new horse, Royal Dutch, to his first show in America and had some beautiful rounds. Emma Lindstrom also showed Bon Vivant, a 5 year old Sir Caletto son bred and owned by Marian Giffin in his first show ever. He is going to be a lovely hunter!

Shadowbrook had a wonderful Gold Coast 1 show from 2/15-2/17. Tarah Wolf joined us from Co. with her talented young hunter, Stanwick. It was so nice to have her back for a bit. Athena and Emma Lindstrom had a great handy round and placed 6th in the USHJA Hunter Derby, Royal Dutch and Natalie Sutherland were also the highest placing Amateur in the Derby. Ande Murray placed well in the big medals and got her wonderful Sir Corland back in the show ring. Stacey Bacheller showed in jumpers with Otto Rocket, and equitation with Boccacio. Caleigh Wells showed Zandigo for the first time in the hunters and really enjoyed him, Lynn Lewis also got her show season started with some good medal points.

Shadowbrook headed to HITS Thermal for Weeks V and VI from 2/26-3/10. Everyone had a wonderful show with lots of fun and plenty of success. Ande Murray was on fire the first week, she and Comiker were Champion in 16-17 Eq Division and she and Otis were Champions in Mod Jr/Am Hunter division. During Week VI Otis won a Large Jr Hunter class, and Ande and Sir Corland had some excellent placings in the big medals both weeks as well. Emma Lindstrom and Athena were Reserve Champions in the Adequan Hunter Division. Stacey Bacheller showed her jumper Summer Solstice after a long layup and had some excellent results, she also showed Odyssey in the jumpers and Boccacio in the equitation. She did an amazing job in USET, soaring over the open water with ease. Amy Giffin and Caleigh Wells buddied up for some beautiful rounds in the children's hunters, Verseilles finished Week VI with a great placing in the Children's Classic. Natalie Sutherland showed Royal Dutch in some eq and hunters, including an 85 score in the first round of the HITS Hunter Derby. Bon Vivant showed so much potential as a wonderful young hunter in his Thermal debut in the baby greens, thanks to Emma for all her work with him. Carson and Susan Krieg were very competitive in the Adult Hunters with excellent placings in the division and hunter classics both weeks. Stacey Bacheller also showed Stanwick to some great ribbons in the Mod Jr/Am Hunters, and Tarah Wolf came to show him in Pre Greens. We were sorry to see her go back to CO, but so glad she came to show with us!

Shadowbrook enjoyed a wonderful show at Blenheim's Oaks Spring 1 on 3/26-3/30. We love showing there and all the horses enjoyed jumping on and grazing on the grass! Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice were back in the groove, it was only their second show back together after a year off but that did not slow them down. They were Champions in the Mod Jr/Am Division and Winners of the Mod Classic. Stacey also showed Odyssey and Otto Rocket to some great placings in the jumpers. Ande Murray was Champion in the 16-17 equitation division on Comiker and she won the Open Eq Classic on Sir Corland. Natalie Sutherland and Royal Dutch were Reserve Champion in the 18 and over Eq division. Lynn Lewis was Reserve Champion in the Limit eq division and had some beautiful rounds in small jumpers on grass. Cheryl Child and Luka went to their first show of season and had some great rounds including a 4th in the Open Eq Classic.

Shadowbrook also attended the Verdugo Hills 3 show on 3/29-3/30. Zafira competed in her first show and was Champion in Baby Green Hunters with Emma Lindstrom riding. She came back the next day with her owner Arianna Kelly, who was also doing her first show EVER, and was Champion again in the Rusty Stirrup division. Pretty good for their first show! Jordyn Chafee and Chaplin moved up to the Green Rider division and also took home Champion. Sabrina Watson had some great placings in the children's hunters and eq at their first show of the year, Congrats to all!
Shadowbrook riders walked next door to Fieldstone to compete in their show on 4/7. Mackenzie Kelly and her small pony Sweet Talk did so well in their first show of the year taking home Champion in the Crossrail Division, also riding great was Grace Cassar and Pocket Size who also won a blue ribbon. Rachel Cassar and Who's the Boss were Champion in the Children's Pony Hunters and won the TVHSA Stirrup Cup Medal. Way to go girls, it is so fun to watch you all improving and enjoying your ponies!!
Shadowbrook riders completed their IEL season on 4/14 with some great placings. Ande Murray was Reserve Champion in the IEL Varsity Medal Final with Comiker, she also won the Varsity eq over. Caleigh Wells and Patrona were Champion in the JV Hunters and Amy Giffin and Verseilles were Reserve Champions, great placings for both out of very large classes! Stacey Bacheller and Otto Rocket were second in Varsity Jumpers and clinched the Reserve Championship for the 2012-2013 IEL Year end award. Brittany Apondaca was a top finisher in the IEL Horsemanship test, very impressive! Also both Emma Shupper and Stacey Bacheller received Senior Scholarship Awards from the IEL for their achievements, so proud of these girls!!!
Shadowbrook headed to Flintridge on 4/25-4/28 for the 92nd Annual Flintridge Horse Show. We all had a fun and successful show highlighted of course by the ever popular Tandem Class. Our team of Earth (Amy Giffin), Wind (Ande Murray) and Fire (Caleigh Wells) were awesome! It is such a fun class and definitely something the kids plan for and look forward to all year long. We also had some great results in the regular classes. Patrona and Caleigh Wells were Champion in the Children's Hunters and they won the Children's Hunter Classic. Verseilles and Amy Giffin also had two beautiful round in Children's Hunter Classic and placed 4th. Stacey Bacheller won a Modified Jr/Am Jumper class on both her horses, Odyssey and Summer Solstice. Comiker and Ande Murray won the LA Jr Medal. Royal Dutch and Natalie Sutherland were 2nd in Low A/O Hunter Classic and had some great placings in the Adult Medals as well.

Shadowbrook competed at the Verdugo Hills 4 Show on 5/12 at the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center. Lynn Lewis won the PCHA Adult Medal. Breezy Seastrom won the Foxfield Medal and the SFVHJA Challenge Medal. Cheryl Child and Melissa Parnia also had some great results through out the day. It is so nice to take such a great group of supportive and enjoyable amateurs to these one day shows.

Shadowbrook attended the May Gold Coast Horse Show on 5/17-5/19. Athena and Emma Lindstrom started the show off strong as Champions in the 3'3" Performance Hunter Division. Patrona and Caleigh Wells were Reserve Champions in the Children's Hunter division. Patrona headed south from show to Surfside LLC and Sarah Balos on a lease/option. We are hoping she will be very happy and successful in her new home. Valentino and Brittany Apodaca were Champion in the Low Modified Division at their first Gold Coast show together. Royal Dutch and Natalie Sutherland qualified for the LA Sr Medal and had some great placings in the other medals. Bella, owned and bred by Jeni Brown, was back to showing for the first time this year with Stacey Bacheller in the irons, she was reserve champion in the 1.00m and .95m jumpers. Quattro, another nice homebred Shadowbrook horse who is for sale, was showing with Amy Young from Seahorse, she had some great rounds with him. We also got to see Luigi showing with Hattie Liversidge from Rancho Ravella. She was bred by Allison VanSickle and started at Shadowbrook. It is such a fun process to see these young horses developing and showing with their new riders and owners.

Shadowbrook also attended the Memorial Day Horse Show on 5/23-5/27 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice were Winners of the Modified Jr/Am Jumper Classic, Stacey was also 4th on Odyssey. Comiker and Ande Murray were winners of the 16-17 equitation over fences. Amy Giffin and Verseilles had some great placings in the Children's Hunters and also competed in the National USHJA Hunter Derby in the Equidome. Stacey Bacheller, Ande Murray, and Emma Lindstrom competed as Shadowbrook's American Pride in the Team Equitation Challenge, they placed 7th and fun was had by all! Shadowbrook also participated with two teams in the CPHA Foundation Bowling Benefit, always an exciting and memorable event :)

Shadowbrook traveled to the Oaks in San Juan Capistrano to compete in the Blenheim June 1 on 6/5-6/9. Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice were victorious again in the Modified Jr/Am Jumper Classic, it was their 3rd win this season. They were also 6th in the 1.20m Jumper Classic. Royal Dutch and Natalie Sutherland were winners in the 18 and over equitation as well as some great ribbons in the hunters and medals. Lynn Lewis and Cavalier were winners in the Limit eq as well as putting in some beautiful rounds on the grass in the jumper ring, Lynn and Cavalier love the big field at the Oaks. Ande Murray competed Comiker and Sir Corland and had a great week. Bella placed really well in the jumpers with Stacey Bacheller. She has such a beautiful jump and is quick across the ground, we have some big plans for this homebred mare!

Shadowbrook shipped in for one day of the June Gold Coast on 6/15. Ande Murray, Lynn Lewis, and Cheryl Child all had a great day and their horses were super. It is nice to have these good shows so close to home.
Shadowbrook headed back to the Oaks for the weekend of the Red, White and Blue Show on 6/29-6/30. Ande Murray and Sir Corland were winners of the WIHS Jumper phase and also placed second in the Pessoa USEF Medal. It was quite a successful weekend for Ande and Sir C!
Shadowbrook headed back to LAEC for a couple of days at July Gold Coast on 7/19-7/20. Cavalier and Lynn Lewis were winners again in the Ariat Medal as well as having a great round in the PCHA. Ande Murray did the big medals on Comiker and Natalie Sutherland had fun in the Low A/O Hunters on Royal Dutch. Baxter, a 5 year old Homebred by Shadowbrook, showed in the little jumpers with Conner Daniels. It was fun to help Conner so many years after training her Mother, Julie.

Shadowbrook shipped down south for two weeks in Del Mar at the Showpark Racing Festival 7/24-7/28 and the August Festival 7/31-8/4. Ande Murray and Comiker were Champion in a large 15-17 Equitation division the first week. Baxter, our homebred 5 year old by Baccarat, and Stacey Bacheller gained some great experience as they got to show in every ring during the 2 weeks. They showed on the Grand Prix field and finished the second week making the work off in the Foxfield Medal. He was a superstar and learned so much thank to Stacey's patience and good riding. Sir Corland and Ande Murray won the WIHS Jumper Phase as well as placing well in a few other medals. Pamir w/ Emma Shupper and Lynn Lewis w/ Cavalier joined us for the second week. Pamir was great out on GP Field in Children's Jumpers, Emma rides him so beautifully. Lynn had some great rounds in the hunter and jumper rings enjoyed a great weekend with us all! Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice moved up to the 1.30m and did it with ease, they had some beautiful rounds and were quite competitive as well.

Shadowbrook also participated in the Fieldstone Horse Show on 7/28. Natalie Sutherland won the SFVHJA Challenge Medal on Royal Dutch, in addition Melissa Parnia and Cheryl Child qualified
for the Medal Final. Sweet Talk and Mackenzie Kelley were great in the Short Stirrup division winning a couple of classes. Chaplain and Jordyn Chafee also won in the Intermediate division. Lindbergh and Amy Harburg joined our group for their first show and placed well in the Low Ch/Ad, and Grace Cassar showed Pocket Size in the Cross rail division. That pony is so cute! Well done everyone, it is so nice to be able to compete at those shows by just a walking across the driveway.
Shadowbrook headed to the Oaks for the Blenheim Summer Classic on 8/14-8/18. Ande Murray participated in the first round of the CPHA Junior Medal Final before she had to head east to start college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice had a great show in the 1.30m, they won a class in the Low Jr/AO Jumper Division and were 2nd in the Classic by .05!! So close, and a great effort by horse and rider. This was also Stacey's last show before she leaves for Boston and Northeastern University. Stacey also showed Baxter to a win in the Modified Hunters on the Grass field and some nice rounds in the eq and medals as well. Caleigh Wells also left for college heading to Virginia to Washington and Lee University. Our girls are all growing up and moving away, best of luck to all of them!!

Shadowbrook riders Amy Harburg and Brittany Apodaca competed at the Fieldstone Show on 8/18, the were co-champions in the Low Ch/Ad Division. What a great day for Shadowbrook!!
Shadowbrook competed at the Showpark Summer Festival on 8/21-8/25 in Del Mar. We took 3 amateurs to do the CPHA Foundation Finals 22 and over and had some beautiful rounds. Breezy Seastrom and Madison ended up 9th and Cheryl Child and Luka were 10th overall, well done ladies! Lynn Lewis did a great job and ended up just out of the ribbons riding her horse Cavalier, who is aptly referred to as "The best animal ever"! Amy Giffin took over the ride on her Mom's horse Carson for the first time and rode him beautifully! The judges agreed as she won 2 classes in the Low Ch/Ad Hunter Division and ended up Champion. She was also 4th in the Children's Hunter Classic. Royal Dutch and Natalie Sutherland had some great rounds in the hunters and the eq, we love showing at Showpark :)

Shadowbrook headed back to the Oaks for the weekend of the Red, White and Blue Show on 6/29-6/30. Ande Murray and Sir Corland were winners of the WIHS Jumper phase and also placed second in the Pessoa USEF Medal. It was quite a successful weekend for Ande and Sir C!
Shadowbrook headed back to LAEC for a couple of days at July Gold Coast on 7/19-7/20. Cavalier and Lynn Lewis were winners again in the Ariat Medal as well as having a great round in the PCHA. Ande Murray did the big medals on Comiker and Natalie Sutherland had fun in the Low A/O Hunters on Royal Dutch. Baxter, a 5 year old Homebred by Shadowbrook, showed in the little jumpers with Conner Daniels. It was fun to help Conner so many years after training her Mother, Julie.

Shadowbrook shipped down south for two weeks in Del Mar at the Showpark Racing Festival 7/24-7/28 and the August Festival 7/31-8/4. Ande Murray and Comiker were Champion in a large 15-17 Equitation division the first week. Baxter, our homebred 5 year old by Baccarat, and Stacey Bacheller gained some great experience as they got to show in every ring during the 2 weeks. They showed on the Grand Prix field and finished the second week making the work off in the Foxfield Medal. He was a superstar and learned so much thank to Stacey's patience and good riding. Sir Corland and Ande Murray won the WIHS Jumper Phase as well as placing well in a few other medals. Pamir w/ Emma Shupper and Lynn Lewis w/ Cavalier joined us for the second week. Pamir was great out on GP Field in Children's Jumpers, Emma rides him so beautifully. Lynn had some great rounds in the hunter and jumper rings enjoyed a great weekend with us all! Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice moved up to the 1.30m and did it with ease, they had some beautiful rounds and were quite competitive as well.

Shadowbrook also participated in the Fieldstone Horse Show on 7/28. Natalie Sutherland won the SFVHJA Challenge Medal on Royal Dutch, in addition Melissa Parnia and Cheryl Child qualified
for the Medal Final. Sweet Talk and Mackenzie Kelley were great in the Short Stirrup division winning a couple of classes. Chaplain and Jordyn Chafee also won in the Intermediate division. Lindbergh and Amy Harburg joined our group for their first show and placed well in the Low Ch/Ad, and Grace Cassar showed Pocket Size in the Cross rail division. That pony is so cute! Well done everyone, it is so nice to be able to compete at those shows by just a walking across the driveway.
Shadowbrook headed to the Oaks for the Blenheim Summer Classic on 8/14-8/18. Ande Murray participated in the first round of the CPHA Junior Medal Final before she had to head east to start college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Stacey Bacheller and Summer Solstice had a great show in the 1.30m, they won a class in the Low Jr/AO Jumper Division and were 2nd in the Classic by .05!! So close, and a great effort by horse and rider. This was also Stacey's last show before she leaves for Boston and Northeastern University. Stacey also showed Baxter to a win in the Modified Hunters on the Grass field and some nice rounds in the eq and medals as well. Caleigh Wells also left for college heading to Virginia to Washington and Lee University. Our girls are all growing up and moving away, best of luck to all of them!!

Shadowbrook riders Amy Harburg and Brittany Apodaca competed at the Fieldstone Show on 8/18, the were co-champions in the Low Ch/Ad Division. What a great day for Shadowbrook!!
Shadowbrook competed at the Showpark Summer Festival on 8/21-8/25 in Del Mar. We took 3 amateurs to do the CPHA Foundation Finals 22 and over and had some beautiful rounds. Breezy Seastrom and Madison ended up 9th and Cheryl Child and Luka were 10th overall, well done ladies! Lynn Lewis did a great job and ended up just out of the ribbons riding her horse Cavalier, who is aptly referred to as "The best animal ever"! Amy Giffin took over the ride on her Mom's horse Carson for the first time and rode him beautifully! The judges agreed as she won 2 classes in the Low Ch/Ad Hunter Division and ended up Champion. She was also 4th in the Children's Hunter Classic. Royal Dutch and Natalie Sutherland had some great rounds in the hunters and the eq, we love showing at Showpark :)

Shadowbrook headed down the street to the Elvenstar show on 9/8. Rachel Cassar and Who's the Boss were Champion in the Short Stirrup Division winning 3 classes! Grace Cassar and Pocket Size also won a class in the Cross rail division, and Lindbergh and Amy Harburg won a class in the Low Ch/ad division. It was a fun day for all!
